GOLDEN BOY
Golden Boy is the solo project of producer-turned-artist Chris Cassriel, who got his start as his childhood friend Lily Ryder approached him over the summer of 2019 to produce her EP, Movement 4. A freshman in college studying commercial music, he would continue producing other artists until his senior year, when he ventured into his first self-originating creative works.
Discovering his love for curating his own creative enterprise, the Couch EP was entirely written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Chris, exploring the collegiate yearning for love and the answers to life, which inevitably are never found. The exciting sound of the project stems from teenage years spent listening to bands and solo acts spanning art pop and indie rock.
The Couch EP
Hailing from Santa Barbara, California, Chris started guitar and piano lessons at the age of ten, playing in church and local bands throughout high school. Moving to San Diego for college at Point Loma Nazarene University, he further developed his guitar playing and newfound love for producing, playing gigs around campus and recording with friends and local artists. Now at the end of his college career, Chris looks forward to continue growing as a songwriter and producer as he heads north to Los Angeles.
